Objective: Seeking information in a text and using the linguistic requisities about travel.
Writing a letter planning a future visit.


Procedure

warm up:
T.: Last time , we toured London and visited some places of interest . Do you remember them?
What are the famous ones ? ( PP speak )

Step One Presentation of the theme
T. : Where is Sally from ? PP:( England ) Where does she live ? PP:( in London )
Jenny and Steve are going to visit Britain . Sally will welcome them. She has planned a visit to London.They will tour the city in an open-top bus.They'll see some historical places…

Step three: Reading phase
1. Now , read text One ( page 64) and complete the blanks in the letter :
PP will read a text (a leafl et) to fill in missing information in a letter.
( Tower of London , The house of Parliament , Big Ben ,St.Paul's Cathedral )
2. Read the extracts from the National Express leaflet and say which information it deals with :
( Text 2 page 65) PP will read text two on for general understanding.
- It deals with instructions about travel / luggage tickets .

Step Four: Practise
1/ Text Three , Four and Five are written in ' telegram language '.Rewrite them in full sentences:
T. makes sure PP understand what he expects from them. He explains to them that texts 3, 4
and 5 are written in telegraphic style then attracts their attention to the “stops” used in telegrams.
In telegrams we use only content words. PP are supposed to supplement the telegrams with the
grammar/function words and write full sentences.

- I'm arriving at Heathrow Airport at 10 a.m on Wednesday. Steve.
- I'm leaving Victoria Station at 12:30 p.m on Thursday. John.
- We're expecting you atSwansea train station at 5p.m tonight. Sally's mother.

2/ Work with your partner. Write telegrams and develop them into full sentences: ( 2 page 64 )
T.makes sure PP use only content words when they write their telegrams.

Development : I'm leaving Houari Boumediene Airport at 2:20p.m next Saturday. Samy.
